Although the actual cause for Excessive Sweating is still unknown researchers have found a certain link between the nervous system and the condition. Excessive Sweating is a disorder which can cause various problems in the society. Though perspiration is a necessity for the body, excessive sweating reduces ones’ self confidence and hinders their sociability.
Lifestyle:
For those who sweat excessively, spas and hot baths should be avoided. Cold showers close the pores and thus reduce sweating. It also increases circulation by preventing dehydration of skin which is an advantage.
Diet:
Spicy foods and hot drinks increase the body temperature by activating the skin receptors which are sensitive to heat. To lower the temperature, the body releases heat in the form of sweat. Even the temperature is released through the underarm sweating. To prevent this, cold drinks, mainly water can be an excellent replacement for the hot drinks and can be consumed to maintain the body temperature.
Stress:
Anxiety and stress causes the autonomic nervous system to initiate ‘hyperdrive’ to supply nutrients and blood to the required parts of the body. The hyperdrive can also accelerate respiration and rise in body temperature which causes sweating.
To stop excessive sweating, stress reduction should be done. Hence rest and relaxation, soothing music and proper time management are the important keys for a healthy and a stress-free body!
Deodorant:
To reduce sweating, deodorants containing aluminium cholorohydrate can be used. This can block the sweat ducts along with aluminium hydroxide.
Environment:
Sweating can be reduced by altering the environmental conditions. Cool environments can be produced using air conditioners, dehumidifiers and powerful fans. This can create a suitable place for a healthy living.
